The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) provides national leadership to New Zealand's distributed emergency management system. NEMA's primary focus is on the performance and capability of the emergency management system as a whole, across all hazards and all risks and the 4 Rs of risk reduction, readiness, response and recovery. MŠtēnei tūranga mahi | About this role
You will play a pivotal role in providing subject matter expertise into the development, and improvement of national disaster response arrangements. You will support communities of practice and champion response best-practice across NEMA and the emergency management sector. The role offers the opportunity to grow your professional standing and networks as you work alongside key national agencies and significant national projects.
The position sits within the National Operations business unit who are responsible for leading the operational systems, arrangements, facilities and infrastructure for NEMA. This is to ensure New Zealand's emergency management system is ready and able to respond effectively to civil defence emergencies.
