Ko tÄ mÄtou mahi - Our Role
We are seeking a budding Portfolio Management specialist to join a high performing Investment Management Office. Based in either Auckland or Wellington, you will help drive best practice portfolio management across our capital investment portfolios. Reporting directly to our Portfolio Practices Manager, you will support the collective effort of our team and establish yourself as a technical specialist supporting development and ongoing management of optimised portfolios.
You will work alongside our investment planning and development teams, and governance groups to ensure all portfolio management policies, processes and procedures are effectively administered, coordinated and applied with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness, supporting our aim that IMO customers see us as helpful and solution focused, and that investments are strategy-led and realise value for shareholders
You will enjoy working collaboratively with your wider portfolio and programme office colleagues, and partner units across the business to enable a complete view across our four portfolios and proactively support portfolio level governance and decision-making to improve business performance.

As our ideal candidate, your peers know you as an energetic solution focused 'can do' person, with the ability to understand and engage with diverse groups and people, and balance their competing demands and priorities with calm pragmatism.
In addition to your relevant tertiary study and knowledge of Portfolio Management Methodologies, you will have hands on experience in portfolio management in a large-scale organisation, with proven experience in advisory roles.
You will have excellent stakeholder management skills, with a focus on collaboration and partnership, and a keen interest in the public sector structure, governance, processes and systems.
