Job Description

About the role:

The Facilities Services unit is seeking an administration support officer to provide clerical support and coordination of tasks relating to the management of the Victoria Police Academy.

Reporting to the VPS3 Team Leader, your main duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Facilities Management - Accommodation and locker allocation for students, assist with co-ordinating corrective and scheduled maintenance, maintain databases and provide customer service to students, employees, contractors and visitors.
  • Customer Service - provide professional receptionist services and informed, high level, courteous customer service to all clients. Attend to phone and counter enquiries, undertake a range of administrative functions including maintaining databases, and assist with the organisation of events.

Your duties will include:

  • Undertake a range of financial, purchasing and asset administration transactional activities and maintain related information systems in accordance with Victoria Police and Government policy and procedures.
  • Provide administrative support including maintaining accurate and comprehensive records/registers and databases.
  • Provide customer service to students, employees, contractors and visitors in a professional, courteous and timely manner.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Ability to provide professional customer service in a busy environment.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to relate to and see issues from the perspective of people from a range of cultures and backgrounds.
  • Ability to establish and maintain systematic and accurate administrative records in a confidential environment.

Requirements and relevant information:

  • One (1) x full-time, fixed term position until 31 December 2022.
  • Position location is Victoria Police Academy, 1 View Mount Road, Glen Waverley.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
  • In accordance with the Acting Chief Health Officer's Direction - COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Workers) Directions, you are required to be fully vaccinated and your employment with Victoria Police is subject to proof of vaccination.
