About the team

You will be joining a motivated team of professionals working to lift the bar to assist in the implementation of the health, safety and welfare management system, and documentation and risk management across the Southern district which includes Otago, Southland and Central Otago/Lakes.

About the role

Reporting to the General Manager Health and Safety your key purpose is to effectively contribute to the smooth running of the Health, Safety and Welfare service by providing an efficient and timely administrative support function that is responsive and flexible to the changing needs of the service/organisation.

Key deliverables of this role include the following:

  • Providing quality admin and coordination support to the GM and team in a timely way
  • Setting up and maintaining effective electronic and paper record systems ensuring privacy and confidentiality
  • Preparing and formatting reports and presentations for a variety of audiences along with the team subject matter experts
  • Meetings, agendas and minutes, travel and other associated logistics
  • Set up and maintain and monitor an action or tracking system to enable the team to focus their efforts and achieve results
  • Identify potential improvements in health and safety related systems and processes
  • Being an active contributor to the team as it continues to form

About you

Our ideal candidate for this newly created role will bring the following skills and experience:

  • Attention to detail, accuracy and a drive for results
  • The ability to prioritise and self manage while contributing to team goals and objectives
  • Great interpersonal skills and the ability to figure out how to get things done with key stakeholders
  • An understanding of compliance and legislation would be useful
  • Strong computer literacy and skills in different communication channels including the use of social media for engaging with different audiences

You'll love numbers and analysis and are not afraid to bring your ideas to the table.
