Job Description

Forest Lawn was established in 1962 and has been developing its grounds into beautiful memorial gardens and undulating hills of lawn burials. It has five crypt complexes; an expanding monumental section around one of our water features, and the availability of various family rockery estates and gardens for burial.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an organised and dynamic Administration Clerk to join our team on a full-time basis.

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Competent keyboard / computing and telephone operating skills
  • Competent administrative skills with an eye for detail and ability to follow through on delegated office support tasks
  • Ability to be people-oriented, and communicate effectively with all levels of the public, both in person and on the telephone.
  • Sensitivity to circumstances involving grieving people, and to their values and beliefs.
  • The initiative and personal skills to work co-operatively and contribute within a team environment.
  • Experience in a service driven organisation, in an administrative capacity.
  • A focus on customer service and collaborative business relationships.
  • An understanding of the cemetery/crematorium service industry and its operations or the ability to rapidly acquire industry knowledge.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Computer skills in Word and Excel – word-processing and spreadsheet; and general computer competency.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to manage customer accounts and debt collection procedures
  • Well-presented corporate appearance
