Where you’ll be working: Henry Rongomau Bennett Centre – Adult Inpatient Unit

The details: Permanent – 80 hours per fortnight - morning or afternoon shifts including weekends

We have an exciting position available in ward 36 for an activities facilitator, and would encourage you to apply if you have a passion for working in mental health. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, with an ability to motivate and support our Tangata Whaiora/patients to engage in activities while in our service.

Ward 36 is one of three adult inpatient wards based at Henry Rongomau Bennett Centre. We are an acute mental health ward, which supports the service user/Tangata Whaiora to gain stability in their mental health, whilst supporting a recovery pathway.

To be considered for this position, you should:

• Have previous work experience in a mental health setting.

• Have excellent communication skills and commit to ongoing education and development.

• Have a full drivers licence.

Additional but non-essential:

• Previous experience working as an occupational therapy assistant/activities facilitator or diversional therapist.

• Group facilitation skills.

• Confidence working with others and ability to lead groups.
