Ko tā mātou mahi - Our Role

Our Commercial Group manages Kāinga Ora's key commercial activities, provides strategic leadership and advice to other groups and works with the broader market to achieve system transformation. It contains our developer support team who provide financial underwrites to housing projects that meet defined criteria, our procurement and supplier management team who support our business groups to source materials and services, and our acquisitions and divestment teams.

Our high performing national Acquisition team is growing so we are now looking to welcome an Acquisition Manager to be based in Auckland.

As an Acquisition Manager, you will be responsible for acquiring property around New Zealand in the form of land, existing residential properties and design and build development projects.

Reporting to a Senior Acquisition Manager, and working as part of a supportive team, you will be tasked with:

  • The identification, feasibility analysis and negotiation of acquisition opportunities and the preparation of business cases for their approval
  • Engaging with the property market to identify suppliers who can support this acquisition activity at scale - new business development
  • Developing strong relationships with partners, and potential partners, to deliver ongoing supply of new constructed property

Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu - What you will bring

  • Demonstrated experience and success in the property industry, particularly in the area of acquiring, managing and/or developing property
  • A commercial and results driven focus
  • Sound relationship management experience and experienced in managing multiple business partner relationships
  • Strong negotiation, communication, presentation skills
  • The ability to develop strong networks in the market to achieve successful outcomes and create successful new business opportunities
  • A tertiary qualification in the property sector (preferred)
