Job Description
Main Responsibilities to include:
- Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes
- Responsible for the implementation of the financial framework, accounting, and finance procedures, setting up the respective local systems and controls and ensuring proper regulatory reporting.
- Help with quarterly and year-end financial audit activities and the annual corporate financial controls audit
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Supervise and/or manage general ledger accounting functions
- Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships
- Work with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at year-end
- Provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities
- Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets and consolidation and reporting to the company
- Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities
- Report risk issues to the audit committee and board of directors
- Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested
Requirements
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Previous experience working with a real estate company is ideally preferred.
- MBA and/or professional accounting designation: CFA, CPA, ACA, ACCA
- Should have a high level of written and oral communication skills
- Strong background in finance and strategy with a demonstrated understanding of regulatory frameworks and requirements related to Financial Institutions
- Strong quantitative skills, comfortable building models, managing large amounts of data, and analyzing the output to identify trends or present solutions.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working for a major group or a large corporation in the real estate industry.
