Our client is a market leading company, providing workplace hygiene, storage, signage, cleaning, food safety and food handling products to the food processing and manufacturing industries of New Zealand. Their products are sold via distributors, as well as directly to end users.
On their behalf, we are seeking an experienced Account Manager, to manage a portfolio of the company's well-established clients. We want to attract someone who will not just nurture the client portfolio, but who will focus on growth, constantly looking at ways to improve revenue and increase "share of wallet' within these accounts.
As well as managing existing accounts, there will be a new business element to this role. The successful new team member will be tasked with the acquisition of targeted new end-user clients, so you must be confident in your ability to prospect and cultivate new business.
The Role:
- Account Management of a portfolio of reseller clients and grow share of wallet – 50% of role
- Acquisition of targeted new business, through business development activities – 50% of role
- Build relationship with customers across their business from Factory Manager, purchasing team to Laboratory and QA teams.
- Continually develops product knowledge to be able to offer customers the most suitable products
- Conducting workplace surveys and providing recommendations around workplace hygiene
- Offer customised solutions to suit the specific needs of each customer.
- Aim to grow customer spend across all categories – increase share of wallet
- Promote new products, bundle product suites, and ensure a value-added service
- Plan and manage a sales pipeline across all customers.
- Perform regular customer business reviews, ensuring requirements are being met.
- Work collaboratively with Australian sales team, across mutual cross Tasman clients
- Increase sales through effective, knowledgeable, and innovative selling
- Ensure regular visits client sites/ branches to keep abreast of any specific needs
About You:
- 5+ years’ experience in Account Management / Business Development roles
- Able to build lasting relationships with existing clients, identify growth opportunities and offer suitable solutions
- Proven experience identifying and acquiring new business, with a strategic sales focus.
- Demonstrates high level relationship management skills, ensuring proactive, positive customer contact
- Will strive to promote all product ranges and introduce customers to new products
- Understands how to apply pricing and customise individual customer proposals.
- Experience working with businesses in Food processing, Food manufacturing, Food Service industries and others involved in the food and beverage supply chain.
- Hygiene, Janitorial, Commercial Cleaning, PPE, industry experience, would also be desirable.
- Any experience working with distributors, e.g., Snell Packaging, Office Max, NZ Safety Blackwood’s
- Able to manage a North Island Territory and travel up to 5-7 nights a month.
- Planning and organisational skills. Ability to plan a call cycle to cover a wide territory and customer base.
- Excellent grasp of technology, MS Office Suite, Excel, Outlook and proactive use of CRM
- Hungry to achieve, goal and target oriented
