Summary:

We are currently recruiting an ambitious Service Leader to join Bell 5G and MEC Services incubation team. In this position, you will play a pivotal role in defining and building Bell’s next 5G services and contribute on key initiatives.

Bell’s 5G services development require managers and executives to keep the big picture in focus. As the leader driving the definition and creation of new services, you will participate in facilitating complex, multi-disciplinary projects. You will be participating in organizing R&D, planning and communicating your recommendations to stakeholders.

This includes managing project schedules, leveraging established R&D frameworks, identifying risks, defining hypothesis and clearly communicating goals and objectives of your roadmap. The projects will be span Canada, and it is your job to keep all the players coordinated on the business value creation, customer journey and the project's readiness.

Key Competencies: 

Ability to quickly research and ramp up on innovative technologies, products and market challenges.

The ability to, methodically and scientifically, design experiments to prove or disprove your projects assumptions and objectives.

Is self-motivated, can work autonomously and takes initiative

Manage projects using LEAN problem solving, and analytical skills, combined with clear business judgment.

Strong understanding of Telco, API, IoT and Cloud technologies and eco-systems.

A hunger for learning, an ability to develop and implement creative ideas, and the discipline to manage different projects to tight deadlines simultaneously

Experience in managing projects in a shared resource environment with multiple types of project delivery methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall. An understanding of scaling agile frameworks (SAFe, LESS, DAD, Nexus) is an advantage. 

Must have positive attitude and high energy with exceptional cross-group collaboration working both within Bell and across external partner teams.

Team player with a sense of humor and the ability to exercise good judgment in the face of a rapidly changing marketplace.

Depth of technical understanding across the 5G ecosystem (Wireless technology, 5G RAN, 5G Core, IoT, Cloud, MEC)

Job Duties / Accountabilities:

Explore and assess potential services to develop on Bell network leveraging Smart Core 5G technologies (MEC, Cloud, IoT, APIs)

Work with internal engineering teams and external market organizations (Business Markets) to provide technical guidance feedback on product & feature definition, feasibility, scoping and development.

Communicating complex ideas to a non-technical audience.

Understand and apply product technology, strategy and direction to evolving businesses

Build business cases and development roadmap in collaboration with Business and technology teams.

Evolve best practices for technical program management, serving as a role model by demonstrating vision and team leadership.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master degree or equivalent practical experience

5+ years of experience in in technological program delivery management or product development in software companies

3+ years of experience with Scaled Agile frameworks

3+ years of experience with innovative product development practice (COIN, design thinking, Lean Startup, etc.)

Experience with Software as a Service or Platform as a Service business models

Experience with API development, consumption and business models

Strong experience in customer requirements gathering.

Experience working closely with a software development team.

Additional Qualifications :

5+ years experience with software engineering

Prior experience developing and/or testing  network services

Proven track record of working in and/or with distributed engineering teams

Extensive knowledge of the 5G market trends, industry players, and new technologies.

Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
