Te Puni Kōkiri, the Ministry of Māori Development, has two Advisor/Analyst roles in our System Performance Monitoring Team within our Strategy, Finance and Performance Puni. These roles are an opportunity for you to be an influential contributor to positive outcomes for whānau, hapÅ« and iwi.

TPK has a range of responsibilities that are very broad, from Te Reo Māori and culture, social and economic issues, to the environment and natural resources. One of the key attributes we bring to the public sector is to use our knowledge to influence the public service to lift its performance for Māori.

Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The opportunity

The Advisor/Analyst will contribute to, and lead projects within a work programme to implement Te Puni Kōkiri's three-pronged approach to system performance monitoring:

  • Monitoring wellbeing outcomes
  • Monitoring progress of government priorities
  • Monitoring policy, programme and service effectiveness.

Ko wai koe | About you

The common criteria for success are to:

  • Knowledge in evaluative methods, public sector monitoring and assurance.
  • A degree or similar qualification in a relevant field or significant experience in the public sector.
  • A high standard of written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong analytical and critical reasoning.
  • Understanding of government and the public service.
  • Strong relationships management and values diverse experience.
  • Comfort in working in a tikanga/kaupapa Māori environment, a degree of fluency in Te Reo Māori would be of benefit.
