Do you want to take the next step in your library career? We are looking for a Collection Management Librarian to help collect New Zealand s published collections.
Collection Services sits within the Information and Knowledge Services branch, the Department s epicentre of information management, culture and heritage. Our branch is all about collecting, storing and preserving important things that are precious to New Zealand.

The Collection Management teams are responsible for acquiring all types of published material. We do this under New Zealand s Legal Deposit legislation and through purchase and donation, working with publishers, authors and vendors. We acquire books, journals, newsletters, music, maps, CDs, DVDs and electronic documents. The Library s published collections support services to a range of clients, including researchers, schools, and other libraries.
This position will appeal to a librarian who is keen to gain or build on experience in acquisitions processes, and who has an interest in publications produced in New Zealand and elsewhere in the world. It provides a solid foundation in a range of collection management skills.
You will be expected to:
Qualifications:
A degree and a recognised library qualification, the minimum being the Level 5 Diploma in Information and Library Studies from the Open Polytechnic of New Zealand
OR
Professional Registration through LIANZA
An equivalent combination of qualifications, training and experience approved by the Director of Content Services.
